Evelyn Lam is a professional artist, born in Singapore, and now living and working in San Francisco. Her work in this series recalls her architectural background and her fondness for the unique qualities of her homeland.

They portray simple, pure “restorations of memories”, achieved with paint. They recall a part of Singapore’s heritage in its previous grandeur. Evelyn Lam sense of ritual and colour, combined with contemporary images, and representational elements, result in works which fascinate, intrigue and often haunt the viewer with their content and painterly skills.

Evelyn’s works have received critical acclaim and have been seen in international museum shows of contemporary art, as well as solo exhibitions in California. Her works are well represented in collections around the world.
