Tan Thean Song is a Malaysian Asian Modern & Contemporary artist who was born in 1946. Tan Thean Song’s works have been offered at auction multiple times.
Tan Thean Song mainly works in the batik medium, although he also paints in watercolours and Chinese ink. Tan studied at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Art in Singapore and won 2nd Prize (Batik) in the 1969 Salon Malaysia with Flying Kite, which is now in the collection of the National Art Gallery.
Tan also won 1st Prize in the Malayan Young Artists competition in 1964 and his batik painting ‘Playing Kite’ won the second prize for works in the batik medium at the Malaysia Art Competition in 1968.
