BIOGRAPHY
Born in Singapore in 1940, LOY CHYE CHUAN is one of Singapore’s sought-after watercolourists. A self-taught artist, Loy started painting in 1958. He enjoys capturing the fast-disappearing scenes of Singapore, a subject close to his heart. The use of bright colours gives a certain vitality and liveliness to his works. Loy’s paintings are pleasing, bold and always present a fresh perspective . He uses his colours in a subtle interplay of shades and tones.
